Comedian Seyi Law once had Ini Edo in the crowd, and he had everyone in stitches. During the performance, Seyi unexpectedly spotted Ini Edo in the crowd and greeted her with, "Ini Ini, Are you (here) in it?" That got a chuckle out of the actress. The recent scandal involving Ini Edo's coworker Empress Njamah and her ex-lover-scammer, George Wade, has prompted the question of whether or not Ini Edo is actually involved. Wade has been arrested for alleged serial scam and blackmail against several other women in Liberia and Nigeria.
Remember that Liberian law enforcement has established that Wade, whose actual name is Nicholas Jack Davies, is a notorious con artist who preys on wealthy ladies by pretending to fall in love with them in order to steal their money. Wade has been trending on Twitter and other platforms. A video of the Liberian man who pretended to be Ini Edo and Empress' boyfriend went viral a few hours after he met his end. The video also included a photo of Ini's foreign passport.
Ini Edo's foreign passport, portrait, and video recording were reportedly recovered from Wade's phone. The Nigerian empress Empress Njamah is said to be just one of nine female celebrities whose private videos he allegedly had in his possession. The scandal has received a lot of attention, and many people have voiced their disapproval of the actress. Ini Edo has responded by telling her side of the tale.
She claimed that the blackmail suspect had first approached her months before, saying he was making a film and wanting her to star in it. Edo continued by saying that she cut off all contact with him when he made romantic overtures. She said that she and Davies have never met, and that she only sent him her passport photo and promised to fly to South Africa for a business meeting after he specifically requested it.
The actress said she picked up the uninvited phone to instruct Davies to call her on audio instead of video and that the call was recorded. Piece by piece, she stated, "Just turning on my phone and I'm been besieged with loads of accusations. I'm not sure what I'm doing, but I know I have to do it because too often I let others get away with throwing things at me, and then they think it's fine to keep doing it. I don't understand why I keep getting sucked into this web of deceit. I can't lie if I'm going to have to discuss this.
"Sometime around August/September/November of last year, someone sent me an SMS from a foreign number. When I inquired who it was from, he indicated a coworker had given him my number. I simply want people to stop bothering me so I can focus on living a good life and making good decisions for myself, my loved ones, and my professional future.
Just leave me alone, stop making up stories about me. When people bring up Ini's name and start talking smack, I usually just shut up about it. For the longest time, I did nothing while you guys treated me like way.
